We really like the road team in this matchup. The line appears to be highly influenced by the Cubs' strong overall record and RHP Clay Holmes' sparkling 2.86 ERA, but we think this is an overreaction. The Cubs (71-51) have been playing well, but the rivalry dynamic and St. Louis' ability to keep games tight as an underdog make this line bloated. The Cardinals (61-60) enter this series having won seven of their last ten games, showing plenty of fight as they continue their late-season push.

St. Louis hands the ball to LHP Matthew Liberatore (5-9, 5.15 ERA) who has effective away from home and faces a Cubs lineup that has occasionally cooled off against left-handed pitching. The Pirates (59-64) return home to PNC Park looking to regain their footing, and they feature a sneaky strong matchup tonight. The Yankees (68-53) counter with Gerrit Cole (6-5, 3.35 ERA), who remains a marquee name but has shown vulnerability on the road this season. Meanwhile,  With New York laying a steep price away from home, taking the run line with a surging Toronto squad provides strong value.
